Paulette Bourgeois (July 20, 1951) is a Canadian children's writer and creator of the babies's literary character, Franklin the Turtle.

Innate around Winnipeg, Manitoba, she graduated from a University of Western Ontario in 1974 with a B.Sc.

Her number 1 book was Franklin in the Dark, published around 1986. She has written complete Xxvi Franklin books.

She is married to Ian Urquhart & has 2 toddlers, Natalie & Gordon & resides inside Toronto, Ontario.

Around 2003 she was made the Member of the Order of Canada.
